Our Philosophy
The firm primarily works on new construction and remodeling projects with "turnkey" interior design contracts. We leave your home completely ready so you can move in as soon as we hand over the keys. We participate in space planning and architectural design, select all finishes, and work closely with the architect and contractor to ensure the desired results. At the same time, we design, supply, or manufacture the entire project's décor. For many projects, this includes acquiring operating supplies and equipment, from dishes and utensils to linens and towels. We outfit the home or project with everything it needs to operate. We typically divide the project into three areas described below. Some projects only require Décor, while other clients ask us to work on all three.
How do we charge?
Our fees for interior design work depend on the type of project—residential or hospitality—as well as our percentage of involvement. We charge in several ways. We usually charge a flat fee for the initial design. Fixed fees are based on the size and scope of the project. This will include all initial meetings, presentations, design boards, budgets, and furniture selection. We charge a retail fee for the purchase of furniture, accessories, lighting, decor, rugs, and art.
Typical Phases of Work
The following phases are the ones we normally use to quote our services:
Establish project parameters (schedule, timeline, budget) and design objectives with the client. Create various design boards and inspiration boards to describe the proposed idea.
To convey and describe the look and feel, finishes, and décor, individual Schematic Design boards are created for each of the project's main areas. We also prepare a preliminary estimate for our purchases and provide actual samples of materials and finishes.
Here we finalize the plans, along with other elements, to describe the characteristics of the entire project, including furniture, hardware, fabrics, materials, colors, etc. We prepare furniture layout plans, a detailed purchase budget, and a procurement ledger tailored to the decoration acquisition. Final client approval is given here.
We are available to answer any questions and verify that the design is being implemented by the GC according to the project's intent. On behalf of the client, we can also prepare a final checklist.
During this phase, we manage the procurement or custom manufacturing of all the project's decor. We do not purchase any finishes or coverings for the project—they are purchased by the GC.
Here we oversee and coordinate the complete installation of all furniture, decor, art, etc., as well as OSE items if included in the project.
